Tuesday, May 9, hammer down all day, by Jolene: We drove over 1000 miles today! Way too many on a bike! The speed limit went up to 80 in South
Dakota, so of course we had to go over that most of the time. The speed limits were 80 all the way today,
SD, WY, and MT. Stopped for two quick
meals and kept moving. Thankfully we can
only go about 175 miles on a tank of gas, so that means stopping and getting
off the bike every couple of hours at least.
This is NOT a fun way to travel on a motorcycle, and by this time Jolene
is getting pretty sick of it. But
knowing it only will last a couple more days keeps us going so we will have
more time for the main part of our trip.
We also went through some rain today and had to suit up for that. We slept at a Flying J at Bozeman, MT. We drove 1008 miles today.
