June 17 (Grand
Marais, MI)
After spending the night with Randy and Roxie we went to church and
then Roxie dropped us off at the airport and we were on our way to Grand Marais, MI (in the
Upper Peninsula) where Jay & Cynthia Aeschliman live. We landed on a small grass airstrip
today. Jay and Cynthia had been in
Botswana with Flying Mission, and left a year before we arrived, but we had met
them in Bluffton, OH at their home before we had gone over. Then it was through Jay that Roger got the
job he currently has. They live right
along the northern border of Michigan, on the shore of Lake Superior. It’s a beautiful setting, and they showed us
around different places. Of course there
were lots of airplane/work/pilot stories from the guys! We ate supper around the fire, and saw a
beautiful sunset. JOLENE
